LegalTech West Coast - Legal Outsourcing Offshore

This is just a short post to let readers of my blog know about the ALM LegalTech West Coast Conference being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 20-21.

The LegalTech Conferences are the largest and most important legal technology events of the year. It is anticipated that there will be around 3,500 attendees at this year’s event. LawScribe are hosting the June 20 track sessions on Legal Outsourcing Offshore.

There will be sessions throughout the day dealing with theoretical and practical issues surrounding Offshore Legal Process Outsourcing. Speakers include, John K. Halvey, from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, Douglas Brown and Scott Wilson, authors of the Black Book on Outsourcing and several other highly respected speakers from within the Legal Profession.

Discussions will focus on setting up and managing outsourcing relationships, case studies on successful legal outsourcing, and best practices for managing outsourcing contracts. The track includes the following sessions: “Hype v. Reality: Dispelling Offshore Outsourcing Myths,” “Outsourcing in Action: A Practical Approach to Legal Outsourcing,” and “Current Legal and Business Trends in Outsourcing Agreements.”

The link below has a more detailed description of the track sessions:

I feel particularly privileged to be hosting a panel session featuring Douglas Brown and Scott Wilson. The Black Book on Outsourcing is recognized as being the leading publication within the Outsourcing industry offering both a detailed overview of the world of outsourcing as well as practical guidelines to operating successful business process outsourcing relationships. The following are just a couple of examples from the plethora of endorsements the book has received from highly respected industry leaders.

“This is, without question, the most comprehensive publication on outsourcing. It’s destined to become the most regarded source of essential outsourcing information and practice..” Ward Holland, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Development, Wachovia.

“The Black Book of Outsourcing moves beyond the rhetoric and offers specific strategies for those choosing to outsource and for those whose careers have been impacted by outsourcing. Outsourcing is a reality. This book shows companies and workers alike how to turn it into an opportunity.” - Thomas J. Donohue, President and CEO, United States Chamber of Commerce.
