I hope you are doing well.

To my knowledge the San Diego, NYC, and Florida Bar associations have all released Ethics Opinions dealing with legal outsourcing.

The Florida one, I have not yet commented on, but it is broadly the same as the NYC and San Diego opinions in its comments.

I'm sure that over the coming months we will also see other States releasing similar opinion. Personally I expect to see more of the same.

The basic conclusion being that offshore legal process outsourcing is permitted subject to adequate supervision, appropriate billing and where necessary client consent.

Hello MarkHow are you doing? time zone differential, a common law jurisdiction, and a sound infrastructure that make India the destination of choice for many Legal Process Outsourcing companies, the main driving force is still the labour arbitrage benefits to be gained.

It is a simple fact that the salaries paid to attorneys/solicitors in the U.S. and U.K. are significantly higher than what is paid to their Indian counterparts.

What I anticipate will happen with both the growth of the Offshore Legal Process Outsourcing industry and the eventual opening up of the Indian legal sector to foreign firms, is that the median wage paid to Indian attorneys will gradually rise.
<link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml'
